The Interview Show with The Belle Game #153
from The Interview Show · host Scott Wood
Most bands like to do interviews after soundcheck or after a show–meaning late at night–but not The Belle Game. Instead Vancouver’s dark orchestral pop makers chose to do our interview at 10am on a Sunday morning. Arg! Still groggy from my Saturday night, I pulled myself out of bed early to meet with Adam and Kat at a trendy Main Street coffee house. (If you listen carefully you can hear guys with beards asking cute pierced baristas about their Sunday morning swim meets.) I may have been wobbly from the night before, but I still got the band to talk about The Belle Game‘s elusive and shy lead singer Andrea, band thank you note etiquette, and the last time they really got wild. Listen to my chat with Vancouver’s favorite goody-two-shoes band… (Just kidding: they’re tea-lovin’ animals!) Tracks played on the show... 1) The Belle Game, Ritual Tradition Habit (2013) “Wait Up For You” 2) The Belle Game, Ritual Tradition Habit (2013) “River” 3) The Belle Game, Inventing Letters EP (2009) “Tiny Fires” (partial/background) 4) The Belle Game, Ritual Tradition Habit (2013) “Blame Fiction” ALL songs CANCON
