The Ipsos MORI Podcast Special Edition: Just the Usual

from Ipsos in the UK Podcast · host Ipsos in the UK

This is a collection of women’s real-life stories of experiencing fear and harassment in public spaces, read by men. TW // content includes references to sexual assault and harassment Compiled by Ipsos researchers Lucy Neiland (@LucyNeiland), Lizzie Gordon and Tamara Ansons, this three-minute audio recording prompts us to re-examine these stories of everyday harassment so ubiquitous for women they are described by many participants as “just the usual stuff.” Having them read by men helps us to hear these stories anew, with the shock they deserve. As a society, we need to develop our shared understanding and language around this problem. This recording is a step towards that end. Thanks to the women of Ipsos and their friends who sent stories in. The following stories are theirs, read by male friends and colleagues.
