The Irish Medical Organisation warns the regions doctors are being put under excessive pressure
There are new warnings about a growing crisis among the country's doctors. The Irish Medical Organisation says research published this week by the Medical Council confirms that 'too much is being demanded from too few'. It’s being claimed that many people are experiencing difficulties when it comes to getting an appointment with a GP in the North West. A report published last year found that Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal failed to register a satisfactory amount of GPs, in line with the World Health Organisation’s standards of care. Dr. Tadgh Crowley, chair of the GP Committee of the IMO says it underlines a serious threat to the health and safety of both doctors and patients:
