The Island of Doctor Moreau Chapter 2 - The Man Who Was Going Nowhere

In which a weary and famished wanderer slowly regains consciousness aboard a small trading schooner, where he encounters a pale and talkative medical passenger named Montgomery, who tends to his ailments and shares memories of London life. Amid curious noises from above and half-answered questions about their mysterious destination, the stranger learns they are bound for a nameless island, and he begins to gather his scanty strength and wits anew.
