The "IT" Factor

from Crosstowne Church - Sermons

As we've been learning over the course of this series, the way you think determines the way you feel and the way you feel determines the way you act. So much so, that if you want to change something in your life that you don’t like, you don’t start with your actions, you don’t even start with your feelings, you start with your thoughts. In America we believe a lot of things about our jobs and we put a lot of pressure on getting something out of them. We believe it should benefit us financially, we believe it should make us happy, and in some cases, we believe it should be the thing we're most passionate about. Unfortunately when we don't meet those metrics we live with a sense of unfulfillment and disappointment that morphs to animosity. We may go from job to job, city to city, uprooting our families in pursuit of the perfect job situation, the perfect boss, or the perfect work to pleasure ratio. But what if instead of constantly looking at what we can get out of our jobs, we instead focused on what we can BRING to our jobs? What if we were the kind of people that did excellent work out of the love we have for God, no matter the situation? What if we were the kind of people that brought heaven into our jobs, rather than hell? What if we were the kind of people that weren't focused on being "great" in how the world defines it, but simply good and faithful servants? The kingdom of heaven might just come to earth...Thanks for joining us today! For more information and resources, visit www.crosstownechurch.com or download our free app!
