John Santos is a great Latin percussionist. More importantly he is a leading advocate and spokesman for multi-ethnic music. A 5 time Grammy award winner John has boycotted the Grammy's and their sponsors this year because they have removed the categories for Latin Jazz, Traditional R&B, Contemporary Jazz, World Music, Native American, Cajun/Zydeco, Hawaiian, Contemporary Jazz, Instrumental Rock, Traditional Blues, Gospel, Mexican and other ethnic and instrumental categories: Oh yea John decided to become a musician because of the scene in the bay area circa '73.
