The Journalist and the Politician: The Jeff German Murder

Veteran investigative reporter Jeff German was fatally stabbed outside his home in September 2022 following his publication of articles exposing workplace misconduct and an inappropriate affair involving Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles. Investigators linked Telles to the crime through surveillance footage of a red SUV and the discovery of the suspect's DNA under German’s fingernails, as well as bloodstained, shredded clothing and shoes matching the assailant’s outfit found hidden in Telles' residence. Despite Telles' defense that he was the victim of a vast political conspiracy involving the police and real estate interests, he was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison.
