The Joy of Creating Art (Coronavirus and Our Mental Health)

from ThinkTech Hawaii · host Jay Fidell

Introspection Inspires Creativity.  The host for this show is Ken Burtness.  The guest is Patrice Federspiel.   Art moves people. It spurs their emotions whether they find themselves taping their feet to music, or flying in their armchair reading a book, or being carried away while gazing at a painting. Most have wished they could create beautiful music, or write brilliant words, or paint great art. But to grapple with the arts is hard. It is easier to find excuses not to try. The pandemic and its resultant time alone deprived many people of these handy excuses. Some people did discover the joy of art. Yet many more could not take advantage of this opportunity. Fear got in the way. Fear of the blank canvas, fear of empty pages, fear of the musical instrument long unused. To conquer fear, one needs freedom and inspiration.
