The Jr. Boy Muttaqun Interview.

“Fourteen years of conversations. The people who made my journey matter.” In this special 14-Year Celebration episode of Vigilantes Radio Live, Dini sits down with Jr. Boy Muttaqun for a conversation about independent music, life on the road, friendship, ownership, longevity, and what it means to keep building when the journey stretches across decades. Originally from Emporia, Virginia, and now representing San Antonio, Texas, Jr. Boy is a rapper, producer, music entrepreneur, and founder of YaBoy Records, an independent label he established in 1993. More than thirty years later, he continues creating music and building his legacy on his own terms. Dini and Jr. Boy also reflect on meeting while traveling with Bizzy Bone, the realities of tour life, the responsibilities that come with helping keep an artist and crew moving from city to city, and the unpredictable experiences that can turn road acquaintances into real friendships—including one unforgettable stay at a rough Oklahoma City motel. The conversation goes deeper into what independence meant before streaming and social media, the importance of ownership, how the music industry has changed, the sacrifices required for longevity, and what keeps someone committed to a vision more than three decades after it began. This episode is about more than music. It is about the long road, the people you meet along the way, and the determination to keep moving forward. Jr.Boy Muttaqun on all platforms.
