The Junia Project - Kate Wallace Nunneley

from More Than Sunday

For most of the Church's history, certain passages in the Bible have been cited to justify the exclusion of women from leadership in the Church. While some denominations, including Methodism, have recognized the gifts of women for ministry, many still have not taken this important step. This reality has been a catalyst for Kate Wallace Nunneley since she was 14 years old. She has since turned her passion for inclusion of women in Church leadership into the Junia Project - a volunteer community of women and men that believes that the Bible teaches that both men and women are called to serve at all levels of the Church, and that leadership should be based primarily on gifting and not on gender. She joins us today to make a compelling case for this belief, and illuminate what much of the Church is missing by not embracing it.
