The Jurassic Timeline

from Elevator Talk With Michelle · host Michelle

Hi and welcome back to another Elevator talk With Michelle. Today's topic is all about the Jurassic (Park & World) Timeline. Here are the movies in order:  1. Jurassic Park (1993)- We see the owner of Jurassic Park, John Hammond, forced to recruit a team of scientists and specialists to evaluate his new theme park and ensure that it is truly safe before it can open to the public.  2. Jurassic Park: The Lost World: (1997)- The second entry in the series picks up four years after the first film and sees Spielberg return as the director.  3. Jurassic Park III (2001)- Jurassic Park III sees Dr. Alan Grant, return to the series. He has been very busy researching the intelligence of Velociraptors but has been unable to find funding for his new project until he meets Paul and Amanda Kirby, who agree to fund his research.   4. Jurassic World (2015)- Jurassic World revived the franchise after there was no activity for the past 14 years.  5. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)- Fallen Kingdom picks up four years after Jurassic World.  6. Battle at Big Rock (2019 - Short Film)-It takes place after the events of Fallen Kingdom, which sees the dinosaurs released across the world. The film focuses on a small family camping at a park known as Big Rock.   7. Jurassic World: Dominion (Open June 10, 2022)- This is the final film in the Jurassic World trilogy series.  Question: Did all the dinosaurs live together, and at the same time? Dinosaur communities were separated by both time and geography. The "Age of Dinosaurs" (Mesozoic Era) included three consecutive geologic time periods (Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous Periods). Different dinosaur species lived during each of these three periods. For example, the Jurassic dinosaur Stegosaurus had already been extinct for approximately 80 million years before the appearance of the Cretaceous dinosaur Tyrannosaurus. In fact, the time separating Stegosaurus and Tyrannosaurus is greater than the time separating the Tyrannosaurus and us. At the beginning of dinosaur history (Triassic Period), there was one supercontinent on Earth called Pangea. Many dinosaur types were spread across it. However, as Pangea broke apart, dinosaurs became scattered across the globe on separate continents, and new types of dinosaurs evolved separately in each geographic area.  Next week's topic will be: The Real Scientific History Behind The Jurassic Park Dinosaurs.
