The Justine Damond Ruszczyk Murder Trial

from Bostonred · host bostonred

Prosecutor Patrick Lofton disputed the defence's claim that Ms Damond Ruszczyk had thumped the patrol car and scared the officers, saying neither Mr Noor nor Mr Harrity mentioned a loud noise on the night. He said investigators found no forensic evidence to show that Ms Damond Ruszczyk had touched the squad car before she was shot.Mr Lofton also questioned why other officers responding to the scene did not consistently have their cameras switched on.The officers did not turn on their body cameras until after the shooting, and there was no squad car video.Mr Lofton noted that a sergeant taking statements had her camera on when she talked to Mr Harrity, but off when she talked to Mr Noor."We'll never hear what Noor said," he said.ABC/WiresMr Damond said after receiving the call he went to Las Vegas airport in an attempt to fly back to Minneapolis. While waiting there in the early hours of July 16, a special agent from Minnesota's Bureau of Criminal Apprehension called his mobile and told him a police officer had shot Ms Damond."I was in shock," Mr Damond said."I was shaking."I said, 'Please treat her body with dignity'."Australian Associated Press
