Kilkenny's Fire Service has introduced Ireland's first purpose-built electric fire vehicle. The two-seater appliance was delivered last week and is now based at the city's Fire Station at Jamesgreen. This new vehicle will deliver a more effective emergency response and enable the service to respond to incidents on the city's narrow laneways in a more immediate manner. KCLR's Dermot Keyes visited Kilkenny Fire Station where he spoke to John Collins, Kilkenny's Chief Fire Officer, about the latest addition to their fleet.
