THE KCLR DAILY: Killonerry Bridge Collapse on Kilkenny/Tipperary boundary (5th Feb 2026)
from KCLR96FM · host KCLR96FM
A pier on the pedestrian footbridge over the River Lingaun linking Counties Kilkenny and Tipperary has collapsed, making the bridge unsafe for public use - and may well be condemned in the coming weeks. However, the February meeting of the Piltown Municipal District was told that people continue to use the bridge, which forms part of the 104-kilometre South Leinster Way, much to the concern of local political representatives, including Piltown MD Chair, Cllr Pat Dunphy (FG). KCLR Daily presenter Brian Ormond spoke to Dermot Keyes (sporting his new wellies) from the south bank of the Lingaun at Killonerry .
