The Kecksburg UFO Crash

Late one evening on December 9, 1965. It was cold and clear. At about 6:00 PM a fire ball was spotted coming from the North West heading South East at an incredible rate. The fire ball was seen as it passed over Canada. Then it entered the United States air space. It flew over Detroit Michigan and Windsor Ontario. As it passed overhead the fire ball was dropping small burning debris that started a fire in a field in Ohio. People hear a sonic boom as the object passed by them. Had the fire ball continued on its course it would have passed near Pittsburg Pennsylvania. A lot of people had heard about the display and went out to see if they could watch the flaming object. As it was nearing the ground, folks were amazed to see it change direction. The flaming object turned. It looked to be slowing down as well. At around 6:15 as the unknown object was coming close to Kecksburg it vanished into a wooded area. One boy said he saw the flaming object as it came to a halt in the woods. Other’s heard a crash as the thing hit trees on its way to the ground. The ground shook as the object struck. Speculation as to what the flaming object might have been began before the object had stopped flying. Some thought it was an airplane and rushed to the crash site. Others thought it might have been a missile that had gone astray.
