An antique room key arrives at the Night Desk in a plain envelope. The key is heavy brass, engraved with the number 212. Luna traces the address on the tag to the Rookwood Hotel, a boarding house that's been closed for forty years. She visits the building one late autumn afternoon. The lobby is gutted and dark.
