The Kid Teacher A young girl was inspired by her older brother and sister. They were doing very well in school. She became excited about doing well in school too! 有一個小女孩她的哥哥姊姊在學校成績優異,她受到啟發,也很希望在學校有所表現。 The girl became the youngest student at her university. Her classmates didn't know she was 13. She felt like a secret superhero! She studied hard to be a teacher. She finished university when she was 15! 她後來成為大學裡最年輕的學生,同學都沒有發現她才13歲,她覺得自己像個隱藏版的超級英雄。她很用功,希望以後當老師,15歲就從大學畢業。 But… she wanted to teach. She didn't want her parents to drive her to work. She wanted to drive. But she had to be 16 to get a driver's license. 她雖然想當老師,可是又不願意讓父母開車送她,只能等到16歲拿到駕照。 The girl got her driver's license and started teaching. At 16, she's the youngest teacher in the U.S.! 女孩拿到駕照後就開始教書,成為美國最年輕的老師。 She teaches Grade 3. She makes her classes fun! She asks her students to try new things. She tells them to think about what they can do, not what they can't do. 她教小學三年級的學生,她的課很好玩。她也鼓勵學生嘗試新的事物,告訴他們要想想,他們能做什麼,而不是不能做什麼。 Her students don't think she's a kid. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
