The King is Here: The Two Leavens

On Sunday we continued in our Luke Series with a teaching from one of our elders, Andoni Montaño.  After reading through Luke 13v10-21, Andoni compared the yeast of the Pharisees with the yeast of the Kingdom.   Hypocrisy is the yeast of the Pharisees. Their need to see in order to believe kept their hearts from being moved by the awe of God when miracles happened. Jesus said this attitude, un-checked, spreads like leaven in dough.  Jesus also referred to the kingdom of God spreading like leaven in dough. The kingdom of God spreads when people take hold of it by faith in Jesus. This faith believes in order to see, not the other way around.   Faith is a gift from God that we can only receive through surrender.
