The Lady Pamela

from Suspense - Radio’s Outstanding Theater of Thrills · host OTR.FM Network

Originally Aired: March 31, 1952 Suspense #467, "The Lady Pamela," presents a sophisticated jewelry heist that goes terribly wrong. Pamela Barnes poses as a wealthy customer at a prestigious jeweler's shop, examining expensive pieces worth tens of thousands of dollars. When two accomplices burst in to stage the robbery, the plan seems flawless. Pamela, along with her partners David Archer and the smooth-talking Halliday, celebrates over dinner, expecting to split a fortune once Halliday sells the stolen goods in San Francisco. However, their carefully orchestrated scheme begins to unravel almost immediately. Detective Boland arrives at Pamela's apartment the very next morning with devastating news: David has been arrested, identified by a distinctive scar on his wrist that the jeweler noticed. Worse still, a police detective followed Pamela after the robbery and saw her dining with both accomplices. As the walls close in around her, Pamela desperately tries to contact Halliday before he flees with all the money. With Scotland Yard cables arriving and her arrest imminent, Pamela faces the consequences of choosing what the narrator calls "a most dangerous way of making a living."
