from Listen to The Lancet Neurology · host The Lancet

Imaging of amyloid β in Alzheimer's disease with a novel PET tracer Amyloid β (Aβ) deposits can be imaged by PET, but most Aβ PET ligands are not suitable for clinical diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). To test the effectiveness of a new Aβ PET ligand, 18F-BAY94-9172, Christopher Rowe and colleagues compared its binding with Aβ deposition in patients with AD, individuals with frontotemporal lobar degeneration, and healthy controls. Helen Frankish discusses the study in this month's podcast, and highlights the editorial concerning the possible tagging of individuals with AD.
