The land of the living by Kai-Anne Clews

They say, that we are in the land of the living, That those who’ve gone ahead, Inhabit the land of the dead. Like so many things, it’s really reversed, We’re not the living and the dead all cursed. We are the dead… who must resurrect to eternal life. We must get it in our heads, the purpose of this short-spun life. For how in any human arch, However famous, loved or sublime, Could ever touch the Master’s Spark, With this, our little bout of time? How could we with human eyes, Ever see a fraction of the Grand Creation? Without first we becoming wise, And knowing Heaven, the destination. Too many see Heaven childishly, A place of lazy ease – But to look on Heaven boundlessly, As a place of Living Free. What did Jesus teach us, let’s reflect – What did he show us to do? He told us we must resurrect, And reject all that isn’t true.
