The Last Battle — The Chronicles of Narnia — C. S. Lewis — a warning against spiritual blindness that robs you of your joy

This episode explores C.S. Lewis’s The Last Battle as a profound theological fantasy that dramatizes the end of Narnia through the lenses of deception, judgment, and hope. The narrative structure follows the tragic fall of the kingdom due to syncretistic propaganda and political manipulation, ultimately transitioning into an apocalyptic revelation where the true King, Aslan, separates the faithful from the cynical. Central to the text is a warning against spiritual blindness, illustrated by characters who either succumb to a counterfeit religion or retreat into a hardened skepticism that prevents them from experiencing joy. Ultimately, the work serves to redefine the Christian concept of the afterlife, portraying eternity not as a static rest but as an ever-deepening journey "further up and further in" to a reality more substantial than the world left behind. This podcast was created with the assistance of AI tools.
