The documentary explores how the video rental company put independent video rental stores out of business by striking deals with film studios. These deals, known as revenue-share deals, allowed Blockbuster to negotiate lower price than their local counterparts in exchange for a cut of the rental fees. Eventually the Blockbuster brand would crumble only leaving one store left in Bend, Oregon.
