The Last Sermon at Pigeon River Baptist

from Hollow Country — Fexingo Horror · host Fexingo

November 2003. Luna drives a back road in Cocke County, Tennessee, past the old Pigeon River Baptist Church—boarded up for years, but with a light in the window and someone singing inside. She's heard the stories: how the congregation locked themselves in during a flood in 1918, and never came out. But the light is new. So is the singing. She goes closer. The door is wedged open a crack, and through it she sees a man in a wet black suit, standing at the pulpit, preaching to empty pews covered in river mud. His voice is wrong—too deep, too wet, like water running underground. He is speaking scripture, but the words are all backward. And he is looking straight at her. This is what she saw. This is what she cannot forget. There is no tidy ending. Only the river behind her, and the hymn still playing, and the feeling that something has been waiting a very long time for someone to finally hear. #PigeonRiverBaptist #CockeCounty #AppalachianHorror #AbandonedChurch #FloodOf1918 #BackwardsScripture #WetPreacher #SingingInTheDark #RiverMud #NovemberNight #HollowCountry #FexingoHorror #HorrorPodcast #SouthernGothic #GhostStory #LunaNarrates #StandaloneEpisode #QuietDread #FolkHorror #SlowBurnHorror Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
