The Last Vacation: A Zombie Outbreak Traps Rhonda’s Family on a Cruise Ship

A family cruise becomes a floating zombie nightmare in Mike Ashkewe’s “The Last Vacation.” Rhonda Canavan boards the Vanguard of the Seas with a new journal and a family already under strain. Then communications fail, security restricts the passengers, and frightening reports arrive from the mainland. Rhonda’s entries record a holiday unraveling as the undead close off the ship’s familiar comforts. This found-journal horror story combines an outbreak at sea with family conflict, panic and dwindling options. A cruise promises escape—but where do you go when the ship itself is unsafe?
