The Left Versus The Right with Governor David Paterson and NY State Sen. Steve Chan & Janine Aqua Freddy | 01-24-26

David Paterson moderates a discussion centered on the political dynamics and social tensions currently facing New York and the nation. The conversation begins by addressing a controversial shooting involving ICE agents in Minnesota, using the incident to highlight the split-second decisions law enforcement must make and the hypocritical rhetoric politicians often use to criticize such actions. This leads into a deeper exploration of partisan gerrymandering and the difficulties faced by minority Republicans who struggle to find a voice within New York’s traditional one-party establishment. The guests, particularly Senator Steve Chan and former candidate Janine Aqua Freddy, emphasize the importance of community-focused leadership over career politics while lamenting a shift from national unity toward ideological hatred.
