The last four chapters of 2 Samuel function similarly for King David’s reign. They are not in chronological order but serve as a carefully selected narrative, shaping how we remember David—not as a perfect man, but as an ideal king, chosen and used by God despite his failures. The author wants us to see David through the lens of God’s grace and faithfulness. Just like with historical figures, our lives tell a story. What legacy are we leaving?
