The Legacy of Family

Families cannot outsource a child’s deepest influences to churches or schools. Deuteronomy 6 places God’s words in the home, where family members take them to heart, teach them consistently, and connect them with everyday life. That influence must be gentle rather than controlling, because hypocrisy and manipulation can breed bitterness. Even where families have failed, God kept His promise through David’s broken line by bringing Jesus, and His mercy gives families another chance to begin faithfully.
