The Legacy of the Mother

I know in the marrow of my bones that the relationship between mother and child is sacred.And when I say sacred I mean: holy. divine. mystical.Our human minds cannot grasp the depth at which mother needs child and child needs mother.There is not one without the other.If you are a mother. You know. You can feel it. You have felt the totally unexplainable width and breadth of connection to and with your child.It is the most intimate bond that exists.When you start to recognize that something so commonplace and everyday as motherhood is actually wholly sacred you start to tap into the spot that I aspire to continually transmit with my work.The spot where we humans and our messy bodies are connected to divinity.Each and every human on this planet was carried by a Woman.Each and every human on this planet was held in the pelvis of a woman.Each and every human on this planet was birthed into this dimension by a Woman.This is not insensitive. It is a fact. It is the Truth.It is the way the human animal evolved. Human babies require love, touch, attention and nourishment to thrive.New mothers require close proximity to their baby to feel regulated. They require nourishment and support. They require love, touch, and attention. It’s just Truth. This is our humanity.We are divine beings having a human experience. This is part of the human experience.The divine part of us feels the true honor and privilege of creating and shepherding new human life.It all happens through the female body.The Mother feels both: the human and divine. She feels the generations backward and the generations forward that her very body is connected to and has influence over.
