The Leo Solar Eclipse Forecast

Leo Solar Eclipse New Moon August 12 2026 11:37am MST The New Moon is the point of pure potential energy each month. Solar Eclipses are that potential set on fire especially when the Sun + Moon are in the sign that the fiery Sun naturally rules. The two luminaries come together every month to initiate a fresh start together. This month they are conjunct at 20 degrees of Leo only 9 degrees away from the South Node newly in Leo stirring up falsities and scandal so that we have the opportunity to choose what is deep within our hearts instead of defaulting to putting that dusty old mask on again. The south node is the cauldron in which those masks will burn. We might as well throw them so we don’t need to be hunted down. Jupiter is warming up as it gets closer to the second decan of Leo at 9 degrees conjunct Mercury in Leo at 5 degrees. Yup we are going to need a bigger spotlight in order to appease the lineup of planets in Leo during the Solar Eclipse. Pluto went retrograde on May 6th and has been moving backwards now at 3 degrees of Aquarius opposing Mercury in Leo at 5 degrees. Pluto goes direct October 15th. This opposition between Mercury in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius is adding fuel to what the south node is doing in Leo. Removing masks but this has to do with the personal expression of the ego needing to be checked in order to objectively see what is needed to meet the needs of the collective group. The north node is also in Aquarius really emphasizing the need to reach for a collective compromise that is reflected in the opposition with Mercury and Pluto. Pluto in Aquarius at 3 degrees is also forming a helpful sextile to Neptune in Aries at 4 degrees. Saturn in Aries sees how the inner self work we are doing is contributing to the collective healing goal and is here for it. Venus in Libra honors compromise and reciprocal exchange in relationships and during the Solar Eclipse she opposes Neptune in Aries. This opposition invites us to see ourselves and others for who we are right now and take off the rose colored glasses that reflect who we want ourselves and others to be. Neptune casts a fog on the reality of a relationship if we aren’t cautious and aware of the possibility. At the same time Neptune in Aries is forming a trine to Mercury in Leo which can create a forgiving buffer to the war happening between Mercury and Pluto. The trine can soften the blow to the ego the opposition is creating. Mercury in Leo is also experiencing a sextile with Venus in Libra making available a motivation to allow for our own ego deaths for the sake of preserving a precious relationship. Saturn in Aries at 14 degrees is indirectly trining the whole stellium of Leo planets providing a grounded reminder that it’s onward and the chips will fall where they may as we stay focused on our larger goal of self actualization. Chiron in Taurus is forming an exact sextile to Mars in Cancer reminding us to create space for calm and comfort in the chaos. Vulnerabilities related to money can be tamed by choosing to stay home and have a netflix night with your favorite snacks. Uranus in Gemini at 5 degrees is forming an exact sextile to that very inflamed Mercury in Leo bringing in information and insight that turns that frown upside down if we allow it after the brutal ego deaths being facilitated by Pluto in Aquarius. The burning solar eclipse question is can you lick your wounds and accept yourself as you are right now today even with the pressure of who you are being guided to become? Its from that humbling experience that you can reconnect with what’s in your heart and start to allow yourself to create from that place without needing an applause for it quite yet.
