The Life and Death of Jimmy Zappalorti

The story of Jimmy Zappalorti's life and death is the story of the times in which he lived. The love of a family, and community, and the search for self-acceptance and a small amount of joy. Jimmy Zappalorti died twice. Once while stationed in Danang, Vietnam, and some twenty years later on Staten Island where he grew up when two hate-filled young men decided to take his life. It has been an honor to tell Jimmy's story and to get to know his story. I think you might have as much affection for him as I do.
