The Life of Faith is a Life of Dying

The path of faith that Abraham walked on led him to die to what God had promised him. The Lord told him to take his only son Isaac, who was the joy of his heart, and burn him up on an altar. The life of faith led him to die to what was near and dear to him, yet in the end God gave him back his son. We see that the life of faith is not easy, but one of dying to that which is dear to us and entrusting ourselves to the Lord.
