This extremely funny fairy tale was part of a collection of fairy tales, and has inspired many artists, from Arthur Hughes to Maurice Sendak. It has always been my favorite of MacDonald's stories, and I think you'll agree. Tonight we're reading the sixth chapter, in which the princess makes an unfortunate series of mistakes.
