Her twitter bio reads: Indigenous Mincéir Beoir/ She/ Her, Human Rights Defender, sociologist, lecturer, activist, and Member of the Council of State. A tireless campaigner for Traveller human rights, Dr Joyce is working to enlighten the wider public about the mincéir Community. She is the first mincéir to graduate with a PhD in Ireland, was named in Evoke magazine alongside Sinéad Burke as 1 of the top 25 most influential women in 2018, and was appointed this year to the Council of State as an advisor to an tUachtarán Michael Dee Higgins.
