The Limit

Bag limits are one of conservation's great wisdoms: enough is a number, and the resource survives because sportsmen honor it. The ethical angler stops at the limit even when the fish are still biting — especially when the fish are still biting. The world preaches the opposite: no limits, more is always better, keep casting forever. But the man who cannot say 'enough' is owned by his appetite, whether the pursuit is money, recognition, gear, or square footage.Contentment isn't lack of ambition — it's freedom from the lie that the next acquisition will finally satisfy. You brought nothing into this world; you'll take nothing out. In between, the man who knows his limit lives richer than the one who never stops casting. Enough is not settling.
