The Little Man and His Little Gun | Moral Stories

This story follows Mr. Jimson, a diminutive man sensitive about his size, who gets a small gun to emulate larger men during hunting season. Despite his wife's gentle skepticism, he goes hunting and accidentally shoots a neighbor's pet duck, falling into the brook from the gun's recoil. After being mocked in the local newspaper, he tries again the next day, intending to shoot a drake, but mistakenly shoots the red, curly wig off the head of the duck's owner, Johnny Sprigg.
