The Living Room Experience- An Audio DocumentaryEOT257 Special After becoming interested in how bands from across the country were able to form a tight-knit Do-it-Yourself or DIY, community, Marissa Jerden decided to combine her love of music and journalism to investigate her own local community. The result was “The Living Room Experience” which explores the origin of DIY music and Raleigh’s own vibrant music scene.  She interviewed multiple “DIY venue” owners and local bands to put together a comprehensive look at how local music not only survives, but thrives below the mainstream surface because of interpersonal connections and dedication to art.
