The Logic That God Exists (The Drew Mariani Show)

from The Best of the Week · host Relevant Radio

✨ Let’s Set the Stage...   Drew starts off the conversation by bringing up what so many in our culture might say: 👉 "God isn't real, everything just kinda… happened." From Hollywood to textbooks, atheism gets a lot of airtime. So, Drew asks: Can we prove God exists: not with emotion or Scripture, but with clear logic and reason?   Enter Robert Trussell, founder of Tempur-Pedic and author of “The Logic That God Exists." Robert has a rock-solid faith that started with rebellion and ended in deep conviction.   You can catch more of the conversation here.     🧠 The Big Three: Logical Proofs for God’s Existence   Robert walks us through three major arguments that don’t require a theology degree, just a brain and some honest thinking:   The Cosmological Argument 🌌   -Everything that exists must have a cause.   -The universe exists. So… where did it come from?   -Science says: matter and energy can’t create themselves.   So, the options are: A) Everything came from nothing, or B) There’s an eternal Creator who got it all rolling (🙌).   The Teleological Argument (Design)    -The universe is insanely fine-tuned.   -Gravity, the position of Earth, the Big Bang... all so precise.   -Robert says: randomness doesn’t produce precision.   -The fact that the universe works, and that we exist, is evidence of a Designer who wanted us here.   The Moral Argument 🧭   -Deep down, we all know certain things are wrong: killing, stealing, lying.   -But where do those moral instincts come from if we’re just chemical soup?   -If there’s no God, there’s no objective “right” or “wrong.”   -So, the very fact that we care about justice and love points to a higher moral Lawgiver.     ❤️ The Peace Part   Robert’s big "aha" moment came from a drive down Wisconsin Ave. He asked himself: “Do I believe in God?” Answer: “Yeah, I guess I do.” Why? Because the logic stacked up. And that moment started him on a path to deeper faith.   His book isn’t just for armchair philosophers... it’s for:   -The skeptical brother-in-law    -The teen rebelling against their Catholic upbringing    -The guy in a sober living house with tattoos on his face who tears up when he hears there's a God who loves him 😭   Robert believes this:   Logic is the door. Faith is the home. Peace is what you find inside.     🙋‍♂️ So What About Pain and Suffering?   Drew brings up the big one: Why does God allow cancer? Car accidents? Heartbreak?   Robert answers with this piece of wisdom:   -God sees from an eternal perspective.   -"Would you endure 10 seconds of pain for 1,000 years of happiness?"   -That’s life on earth compared to eternity.   -God allows suffering not because He doesn’t care, but because He cares that much about your forever.     📲 Wanna Go Deeper?   Robert’s book: “The Logic That God Exists” 📱 Download the Relevant Radio App for more episodes and resources.   And maybe next time someone tells you belief in God is like believing in the Tooth Fairy…Just smile and say:   “Actually, science, logic, and reason all point me right to Him.”
