The Long Delay and the Mystery of God

In his second Epistle, Peter rebuffs the critics of his day who criticized believers concerning the coming of the Lord. In his response, Peter reminds the skeptics and Christians alike that one day with the Lord is like a thousand of our years. Peter then addresses the fact that the Lord is not slack concerning his promises, but is longsuffering so people could come to repentance. However, it's been approximately two thousand years and the Lord has continued to delay His coming.
