Showdown Summer is coming to an end! This week we visit the 1970s yet again and dive into The Longest Yard, starring Burt Reynolds, and the 2005 Adam Sandler remake. The Longest Yard features disgraced former star quarterback Paul Crewe (Reynolds/Sandler) who is sent to prison after a drunk driving incident and is soon tasked by the sadistic warden (Eddie Gilbert/James Cromwell) to put together a football team made up of the prisoners to take on the prison guards in a tune-up game before the guards start their semi pro league season.
