The Lord Willing

As a fairly young pastor, I attended a conference where the leader said something like this: “The Lord willing, I’ll see you next month.” I wondered, why wouldn’t the Lord be willing for us to get together again. Now in my late 70’s, a lot of water has gone under the bridge. Events that impact the lives of a few, hundreds, and even thousands upon thousands have taken place. Regardless of our age, our ability to walk, talk, or to hear, each day is a gift of God here on earth until the Lord returns to take us to be with him eternally. Until then, we rejoice in the forgiveness Christ won on the cross for us. We cherish each day, our opportunity to grow as we study his word, worship in whatever space, physical or virtual, as we take it one day at a time.
