For thousands of years, Jesus' coming was foretold, including details as  specific as His riding into Jerusalem on a donkey (Zechariah 9:9;  Matthew 21:4-5), a central event of Palm Sunday & the beginning of  Jesus' final week before His death on the Cross. Thousands more years  have now passed, but the promise of His return remains, "for the coming  of the Lord is near" (James 5:8).
