The Lord's Prayer: The Most Un-Prayed Prayer Ever

If you are not willing to honor God outside your prayer time, why would you expect God to honor what you say during your prayer time” If you are not trying to honor God on Monday, and Tuesday, and all of the rest of our “unholy days,” why would we expect God to honor what we ask him on Sunday. Wouldn’t that be kind of like … hypocrisy? Guys, God will not be “used.” God is no fool. God’s hypocrisy detector is unfailingly accurate. So … when we pray, it’s not about performance … it’s not about manipulation … it will be gutted by hypocrisy … it’s about seeing God as God, and seeing self as not God. That’s where we’re going to go in just a few minutes. But first, let’s get ourselves ready to see the real Lord’s Prayer … Guys, it’s probably the most prayed prayer ever … at least for Jesus followers. Most of you probably know it by heart. You’ve probably prayed it hundreds of times, maybe … thousands for some of you old guys. But I’d still call it the most unprayed prayer ever … at least for us Jesus followers.
