The Lost Piece: Disability and the Church

Grant Azbell  "Why Churches Should Engage Families That Experience Disability Like Their Life Depends on It (Because It Does)" Nearly 50 percent of parents of children with special needs refrain from religious activity because they do not feel welcomed or included. We will discuss how to think about disability theologically, offer tips for ministering to families that experience disability, and discuss some of the biggest challenges faced by special needs families, as well as equip churches to welcome families that experience disability. We will also discuss how those experiencing disability have essential things to teach us about the gospel.
