The Lost Princess of Oz Chapter 14 - The Unhappy Ferryman

In which the Cookie Cook and the Frogman, having ventured eastward on their quest, receive kind hospitality and thoughtful counsel from a Winkie woman, guiding them toward the Emerald City and revealing the wide variety of characters they may encounter. They then meet a melancholy ferryman, burdened by a peculiar punishment that isolates him from all creatures, whose quiet solitude and simple kindness offer a brief solace before the travellers press onward into the shaded forest beyond.
