Cassidy and Maness, the two Republicans in the race, spent much of the debate linking Landrieu, the Democratic incumbent, to President Barack Obama. In his answer to almost every question, Cassidy mentioned Obama, who recent polls show in particularly unpopular in Louisiana. Â
