The Loving Discipline of God

When hardship hurts, God can seem absent or angry. Hebrews 12 places even painful suffering under a Father's loving care, not His punishment, because Jesus bore that punishment on the cross. God uses discipline to train His children in holiness, though hardship cannot be tied automatically to a particular sin and its exact purpose may remain hidden. Rather than seeking relief alone or giving up, His children can pray, examine their lives, submit to God, and keep running with their eyes on Jesus.
