The lure of clan rule in Palestinian territories

A group of sheikhs from the Hebron of the West Bank have approached Prime Minister Netanyahu with an initiative to secede from the Palestinian Authority and establish an independent emirate that will join the Abraham Accords.The initiative is said to have been met with disagreement in the security establishment, with opponents warning of chaos in the Palestinian territory while supporters say it is an historic opportunity for change.
