The Lymphedema Patient Roundtable: July 2025

The July Lymphedema Patient Roundtable featured an honest, uplifting conversation about the everyday realities of living with lymphedema. From personal wins to tough questions, this session highlighted the strength of community and the power of shared experience.Highlights from this month’s session include Olivia Eggers’ inspiring experience volunteering at Camp Watchme, a summer camp for children with lymphedema, and Catherine Rosenberg shared an encouraging update in her 18-month journey managing a difficult wound, crediting her progress to a collaborative care plan developed by a specialist at the Mayo Clinic and her local team.The group also addressed a powerful question submitted by a patient: “Do you ever fully recover from lymphedema, or does it stay with you always?” The resulting discussion from both the panelists and the audience offered thoughtful perspectives on acceptance, hope, and the role of community in staying motivated managing a lifelong condition.Then, to close the evening, Karen Ashforth read the poem “For Your Birthday” by John O’Donohue.
