The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 278

from Arroe Collins Forest Stories · host Arroe Collins

A nibble of fall is in the air. A tingle of shivers race through the forest. I watch as the squirrels scamper with large particles in their mouths. It could be food or lumber for their tree houses. Native American spiritual studies teach us that squirrels represent change. I also take note of the bright red cardinals. So many of them on the ground, as if to see invisible seeds. The cardinal represents compassion. The human keeps marching on. We rarely stop to visit. With so much change constantly being thrown at us by way of the pandemic, politics and crime, we've not truly stopped to watch the message from Mother Nature. These words were originally written on September 4, 2021. Today is the 19th of January 2022. We still have snow and ice on the ground. Was the squirrel signaling to us to prepare for a colder winter. Was the cardinal telling us about the Omicron variant with its global numbers? The crows are in full flight. The yellowish once green leaves wave in the wind with peace. This lay of land. Just because I pay the taxes and take care of the forest floor doesn't make it mine. For I am only a visitor. We all are. In each and every day and way. A visitor.
